In Honour of sensei Akira Toriyama

I had to take a run up to describe how I've felt over the last few days since we lost the legend that is Akira Toriyama. I grew up with Dragon Ball in the background throughout my life, with skirmishes in watching the series/ movies, playing the games, reading the manga and bearing witness to pop culture unfold. It was part of that diet amidst my teenage upbringing. Against any naysayer's bile, and especially speaking as a dark satirist, beyond Akira's immediate selling points, you were looking at a man with phenomenal artistic talent and world building vision, to which a good chunk of what we may take for granted in entertainment today would've have faced more tribulation on the upsell without his presence.

I've had the pleasure to see young hobbyists and aspiring artists over the decades, inspired by Toriyama, fill their sketchbooks and grow to do great things. Every convention I ever went to there's been great cosplays, fun people and families paying tributes to the man. All countries I've visited, his library has been renowned. Toriyama's works will stand the test of time, though to hear that his journey in this world has now finished, in the bigger picture of emotional value, I have repeatedly been brought to tears.

Akira. I hope you find peace up there with Tezuka, Tolkein, and all the greats. My thoughts go out to your friends and family in this difficult time as well as all creative teams, actors and more that have helped bring your magnum opuses to life. Thank you for everything.
