The Refashion of Cute Critters

Inspired by my Sonic the Columbian Drug Dealer pic and another older doodle, these 2 larger commissions involved the redesign of popular characters, This one was quite articulate surrounding the specific request of the client. As you can see, I have the benefit of being able to show you a stage by stage process based on the message transactions we had.

Originally the latter case of Sonic was going to be portrayed a little more realistic but we instead opted for the quasi cartoony look in the vein of rap design parodies. For my own part is was a good exercise in research and reference accuracy, with me digging up past intel on the Sonic franchise.

All characters and source references by respected creators. Art by me. Background textures from stock photos. The Sonic trio done in Inks and Photoshop whereas the Chaos were Inked and Coloured in Clipstudio with the XP-Pen Artist 12 tablet.
